-Informed consent will be gained prior to each intervention from the client alone or both the client and power of attorney. (The client is the person receiving treatment or intervention not the funding party)
-If you are acting power of attorney prior to treatment proof must be presented.
-Appropriate risk assessments will be carried out before each intervention and the client advised of risk involved in the activity.
-Photographs: Generally, Photographs are not allowed during practice, however if you wish to “photograph a milestone”, prior permission must be sought. If The Recovery OT chooses to use photography as a baseline measurement or for ongoing CPD they will also seek written permission from the service user.
-Recording either video or audio of any of The Recovery OT sessions isn’t allowed this is to protect business resource.
Data: Confidentiality will be maintained at all times, written notes will be kept after each session to ensure continuity of treatment and accuracy of treatment planning.

As a practicing Occupational therapist ‘The Recovery OT’ duty bound to abide by the professional standards for occupational therapy practice conduct and ethics, this was published in winter 2021. To ensure fair equitable service for all, The recovery OT will implement this standard into daily practice.
